Slaaneshi Chaos Marines - Noise Marine Assembly (Work In Progress)

It's been a long time coming, but I've all but finished assembling my long planned Noise Marine squad. I've used Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard torsos, Forgeworld MK II and MK III heads and gargoyle heads and Dirge Casters from the Chaos Space Marine Vehicle Accessory sprue. Everything else is from the standard Chaos Space Marine box.

I'm hoping to get my hands on some wire tomorrow so I can add some cabling to the sonic weaponry so as to finish them off.

The photos below show the work so far. Obviously some of the models need a bit more cleanup before painting can begin.

Slaaneshi Chaos Marines - Bits & Pieces

It's taken awhile, but I finally seemed to have regained the motivation to paint. And not a moment too soon if I'm going to have this army finished in time for a tournament at the start of May.

In the past week I've completed the second squad of Terminators (I'll upload photos once they've been based - more on this below). I have taken fester's advice and started using green for the eyes, though I've made no attempt at line highlighting thus far. I'll eventually do the same for the first Terminator squad and the Chaos Space Marine unit.

In the meantime, I've been busy sourcing bits for the basing of the Terminator squads. I've decided to go with Tyranid bits for the squad that will accompany my Chaos Lord (also assembled just the other day) and some Storm Guardian heads and weapons for the other.

 

 

For the Lord's Daemon Weapon, I decided to take the standard axe head and affix it to the top of the Sorcerer's staff. It's simple, slightly different and does the trick IMHO.

 

I've also assembled the Rhino with reinforced extra armour and Emperor's Children doors from Forgeworld.

The first squad is complete. Now all I need to do is get my hands on some Tyranid bits for when I base them.

Despite being on holidays at the moment, progress on my first squad of Terminators has been rather slow. I'm hoping to finish off laying down the Tin Bitz tomorrow before getting stuck into the detail work.

Both units of Terminators have now been assembled, with all weapon options magnetised. Now I just need to track down some Slaaneshi Icons to finish them off before I can start painting.

And the rest of the lesser daemons unit is complete - this time with a slightly better quality photo.

The next unit on the hit list will be a squad of Terminators, though I don't plan to do too much on them until the magnets I've ordered for weapon swaps turn up.

In the meantime I'm hoping to get back into working on my tournament software project which has been neglected for far too long.

I've just completed half of the Lesser Daemons unit. I'm hoping to get the the remaining 5 finished over the next week.

 I still need to get myself a better camera and/or lighting setup.

My lesser daemons are slowly coming along. All I've done so far is apply a rough drybrush of Dheneb Stone to the flesh and claws over a Hormagaunt Purple base coat.

After looking at the photos, I think a few touch ups are in order before proceeding with the rest of the paint job.

In keeping with the basing concept for this army - that each unit will have the remnants of a vanquished enemy unit incorporated into their base - what better choice for my Lesser Daemons than a butchered assortment of their Khornate foes.
